Chief Electoral officer Maneesh Garg announced on Tuesday that he has received 48,919 applications for voting from home in Himachal Pradesh.
Out of 48,919 applications, 37,362 forms have been approved.
This initiative is aimed at senior citizens aged 85 and above and individuals with over 40 percent disability.
Eligible voters can fill out Form 12D and upon approval from authorities or the Returning officer, electoral officials would provide home voting services from May 21 to May 29.
Additionally, out of 2,995 applications received from employees on essential services, 2,010 were approved.
These employees can vote at Postal Voting Centres in their home assembly constituencies on one of three designated days, Garg added.
The actual voting for all four Lok Sabha constituencies and bye-election for six Assembly seats in the state will be held on June one.
