Congress State President Nana Patole has suggested that the newly elected MPs of Congress should visit the drought-affected areas of their respective regions and interact with farmers and people.
According to the official press statement issued by the office of the MPCC on Saturday, Patole was instructed to do so by all the newly elected MPs of the Congress in a meeting that was held in Tilak Bhavan on Friday.
Currently, there is a severe drought in the state, and people have run away due to this drought. Women are having to tap pipes to fetch water, while animals have no fodder.
The grand coalition government has left the people in the wind, but the Congress party stands firmly behind the people, said Patole at the meeting.
People have shown great faith in the Congress party. There is a picture that the government does not stand behind the people who are in trouble due to the drought, but the Congress party will take up the questions of the people and ask the government to answer. By visiting the drought-affected areas, the central government as well as the state government will be followed up for assistance. For this, the MPs should visit the drought-affected areas in their constituencies and take stock.
The state president said that efforts should be made to provide support to the drought victims by communicating with them and following up with the administration.
