Sensex down over 600 points
The BSE sensex continued to slide on Thursday too, declining 606 pts to open at 79,542.11 on weak global peers.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 132.65 points to 24,280.85.
The BSE registered intraday highs and lows at 79,770.35 and 79,477.83 pts, respectively.
The NSE registered days high and low at 24,300.10 and 24,210.80 pts, respectively.
The Mid Cap slipped by 0.81 pc and the Small Cap by 0.29 pc.
In 30 scrips, 6 advanced while 24 declined.
The losers were Axis Bank by 5.83 percent to Rs 1167.50, ICICI Bank by 2.18 percent to Rs 1195.95, Titan by 1.61 percent to Rs 3417, Powergrid by 1.38 percent to Rs 332.50, and Tata Steel by 1.37 percent to Rs 158.10.
The gainers were Tata Motors by 3.45 pc to Rs 1063.15, L&T by 1.79 pc to Rs 3582.30, HCL Technology by 0.29 pc to Rs 1589.25, and Kotak Bank by 0.25 pc to Rs 1750.45.
