The Central Election Commission had directed that all the states should make efforts to increase the voting percentage for the general Lok Sabha elections as compared to 2019, and also take care that the percentage of voting does not decrease.

According to the official press statement issued today, the General Lok Sabha election 2024 in Maharashtra was conducted in five phases.

Both of these objectives have been achieved in the polling statistics of Maharashtra, as reported by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, State of Maharashtra.

A total of 5,70,06,778 voters, including 3,06,56,611 male voters and 2,63,48,717 female voters, among 1450 other voters, exercised their right to vote with a percentage of 61.33 percent.

In the Lok Sabha elections held in 2019, a total of 5,38,38,389 voters voted, the percentage of which was 60.71, the statement added.
