Senior BJP MLA from Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang South Constituency, Phosum Khimhun died due to a sudden heart attack here on Saturday.

Arunachal BJP MLA Phosum Khimhun dies of heart attack

Itanagar, Mar 9   Senior BJP MLA from Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang South Constituency, Phosum Khimhun died due to a sudden heart attack here on Saturday.
He was 63 and is survived by his wife and two children.
A four-time lawmaker in a trot, Khimhun was holding the post of Advisor to Public Works Department, PWD (Eastern) at the time of his demise.
He was first elected from the Changlang South seat as an Independent MLA in 2004 elections. In 2009 polls, he retained the seat as a Congress nominee. In 2014, he again won the seat fighting as a People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) candidate and in 2019 as a BJP nominee.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed his deep condolence over the demise of the legislator.
"I am shocked at the passing away of BJP MLA Phosum Khimhun from Changlang South assembly constituency. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family members, friends, kin and followers!" Khandu posted on the microbloggig site X.
He said that Late Khimhun was dedicated to the service of his people, the region's development and growth of Arunachal Pradesh.
"Will ever miss his camaraderie, and commitment and concern for the State’s inclusive progress. May Lord Buddha grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to his near and dear ones to cope with this agonizing moment," the Chief Minister said.
