Badal, Majithia responsible for SAD's pathetic condition: Ravinder Singh
President of Akali Dal 1920 and former Punjab Assembly Speaker Ravinder Singh on Wednesday alleged that the Sikh community is suffering the consequences of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal's "wrong policies". Ridiculing Badal for his statement that the BJP is "interfering" in the internal affairs of the Sikh community, Ravinder Sing said earlier the Badals were "close friends" of the BJP. He claimed that had the SAD's traditional Akali Panthak leadership remained strong, this would not have happened. Ravinder accused the Badals and Majithia families of "betraying" Punjab and the Panth. "They only put their personal interests above all other things and the issues of the community were forgotten, for which the Sikh community will never forgive these families," he said. He charged the Badal family with causing "indescribable damage" to the Panth. To compensate for this, the time has come to sideline these "opportunists" from the Akali Dal, he said.
