Delhi Capitals opt to bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders

In a highly anticipated match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Delhi Capitals have won the toss and elected to bat first against the Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens here on Monday.

Delhi Capitals' skipper, Rishabh Pant, made the decision at the toss, expressing his intention to set a formidable total considering the pitch conditions might deteriorate as the match progresses.

Pant noted that the return of Prithvi Shaw in place of Kumar Kushagra and Rasikh Salaam replacing Mukesh Kumar reflects the team's strategy for a strong start.

On the flip side, KKR captain, Shreyas Iyer, indicated a preference to field first. Iyer humorously mentioned that he had asked Pant about his decision before the toss, implying that the toss itself was a mere formality. KKR, making two changes, sees the return of Mitchell Starc and Vaibhav Arora to the playing XI.

With both teams boasting formidable lineups, cricket enthusiasts are in for an exciting contest at Eden Gardens, as DC aim to set a challenging target for the KKR to chase.
