Earlier Akali Dal patronised drug smugglers, now their sons are selling drugs: AAP

Chandigarh, Apr 10 The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab, launched a blistering attack on the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaders for "assisting" the drug mafia to flourish in the state.
AAP said that earlier SAD used to give patronage to the drug mafia, now sons of their leaders are selling drugs like Chitta (Heroine).
Former Minister Sucha Singh Langah's son Prakash Singh Langah was allegedly found selling drugs in Shimla. The Himachal Pradesh police also recovered 42 grams of the Heroine from Prakash Langah and his friends. It is not the first time Prakash Singh Langah is arrested for selling drugs, he was also arrested in a drug case by Punjab Police in May, 2021.
In a statement released from the party office, AAP leader and Minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra said that a son of a big Akali leader was arrested with Hheroin. "We have been saying this for so long now that these people (Akali leaders and SAD-BJP government) are the reason that the drug mafia was able to establish and flourish in Punjab. They plagued the holy land of Punjab with the drug," he said.
"They propelled our state towards the financial crisis and our youth towards the drugs and ruined their lives. For such dynast politicians only their personal interests are their priority. They don't spare a thought to anything that doesn't benefit them directly," he added.
He said on the one hand they are taking out a 'Punjab Bachao Yatra' and on the other hand their own people are being caught selling drugs.
"Akali Dal planted the roots of drugs in Punjab, we need to save Punjab from the Akali Dal," he said.
He appealed to the Shimla police to ensure strict action and punishment of the drug smugglers.
