Normal life has been affected in snowbound Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh following three days of rain and snowfall.

According to Meteorological Department Hansa in Lahaul Spiti received 30 cm (one ft) fresh snow, Gondhla 8cm, Keylong 7.5cm, Kothi in Kullu 7.5 cm and Kukumseri in Lahaul Spiti 3.8 cm.

Around 45 roads, including MH-3 from Sarchu to Darcha and Darcha to Shrinkula pass are covered with snow.

Higher reaches of Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur and Chamba district got one feet fresh snowfall on Tuesday. Last border village in Kinnaur Chhitkul got around one ft snowfall.

Tourists resort Manali (Kullu) got 82mm, Kothi 42mm, Seobagh 40.6mm, Banjar 38.4mm, Jhandutta in (Bilaspur) 35mm, Saloni in Chamba 28.3mm, Dalhousie 27mm, Bhunter 26.2mm, Bharmaur in Chamba district 24mm and Jot got 23 mm of snow.

Minimum temperature in Keylong was minus 0.9 degree Celsius, Manali and Kalpa were at 1 degree, tourist resort Narkanda 5.4 degrees Celsius, Dalhousie 7.2, Kufri 8.8, Shimla, Solan, Chamba and Mandi at 10 degrees Celsius each, Dharmshala and Hamirpur 12, Kangra 11.6, Una 12.8, Bilaspur 12.9 and Nahan (Sirmour) 17.2 degrees.

The weather would remain mainly dry in the next 24 hours till Wednesday, the MeT said.
