Hyd: K Reddy urges citizens to exercise voting rights in LS elections

Hyderabad, Mar 23   Union Minister and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy emphasised the importance of exercising the right to vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled for May 13.
During his visit to the Secunderabad Constituency on Saturday, Reddy noted the prevailing election fervour across the nation, with nominations already underway in some states.
Highlighting that the parliamentary elections in India are being conducted in seven phases, Reddy emphasized the significance of every eligible citizen casting their vote, urging them to prioritize voting over other activities like having tiffin.
Expressing concern over the low voter turnout, particularly in Hyderabad city where only 40 per cent polling is recorded, Reddy emphasised that voting is not just a right but also a responsibility, even as citizens criticise the lack of facilities.
Encouraging discussions within families regarding electoral choices, Reddy stressed that the decisions made in parliamentary elections, held once every five years, have far-reaching implications for the safety, honour, and future of the country.
Reddy underscored the achievements of the Modi government, including its efforts in combating terrorism, bringing Indians stranded in conflict zones like Ukraine and Russia back home, and the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Drawing a comparison between the governance under the Congress regime and the current administration led by Narendra Modi, Reddy urged voters to recognise the difference and make an informed choice in the upcoming elections, citing instances of alleged corruption and inefficiency during the Congress rule.
Reddy emphasised Modi's commitment to righteous, ethical, and honest governance, urging voters to consider these factors while casting their ballots in the next election.
