Indo-US Naval joint amphibious operations off Kakinada concludes

Kakinada, Mar 29 The joint amphibious operations between the Indian and US Navies off the coast of Kakinada have concluded.
Amphibious warships of both the Indian Navy and the US Navy carried out different operations at Kakinada on Friday as a part of the ongoing exercise ` Tiger Triumph 2024.
The Cross deck helicopter operations between the ships of both the countries off Kakinada and other multifaceted coordinated operations between the armed forces were shown to the media persons at the naval enclave here on Friday.

The heavy lift helicopters of the Marine Corps operating from US Navy ships have undertaken various transportation and other emergency missions.
The officials of both countries have explained the objective behind the joint operations of Tiger triumph 2024 to media persons.

The US Navy was represented by Rear Admiral Joaquin Martinez, Vice commander US Seventh Fleet based in Japan, and Indian Navy was represented by Rear Admiral Rajesh Dhankar, Flag Officer Commanding the Eastern Fleet based at Visakhapatnam.

On behalf of the Indian Army Major General Akhilesh Kumar, General Officer Commanding, 54 Infantry division based at Hyderabad attended.

They explained that the Exercise aimed to share the best practices and standard operating procedures in undertaking multinational Humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) .
Two such exercises have been over during the last five years and the present is the third in the series.
It reiterates the robust strategic partnership between the Nations.
The objective of the exercise is to enhance the interoperability for conducting amphibious disaster relief(HADR) operations in the aftermath of a natural calamity and refine SOPS to enable rapid and smooth coordination between forces of both Nations’ they added.

Both the Naval Chiefs further said that the participating units from the Indian Navy include a Landing platform dock, landing ship tanks(Large) , with their integral landing crafts and helicopters, guided missile frigate, and long-range maritime reconnaissance aircraft.

One Infantry battalion group of the Indian army including Mechanized forces one medium lift Aircraft Helicopter and a rapid action medical team have been deployed from the India side, the US side, deployed a landing platform dock with its integral landing craft air cushions and helicopters, a destroyer, long-range maritime reconnaissance Aircraft, and medium-lift Aircraft.
