Maharashtra: BJP OBC Morcha protests against Rahul Gandhi for questioning Modi's caste identity

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Feb 9  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) OBC Morcha activists on Friday staged a protest demonstration here in Maharashtra accusing Congress MP Rahul Gandhi of making what they called "baseless" statements questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi's OBC identity.
The OBC Morcha activists led by Dnyaneshwar Borse gathered at Kranthi Chowk and shouted anti-Gandhi slogans during their agitation. Similar agitations are underway across the state.
Addressing a gathering at Jharsuguda in Western Odisha during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Gandhi on Thursday lambasted Modi, accusing him of befooling the people of the country about his caste.
The Congress leader said Modi was born in a family that belonged to the Teli caste, which was a general caste at the time of his birth. The BJP government in Gujarat, howeve, in 2000 included the Teli caste in the OBC category.
Gandh also claimed Modi would never allow a caste census to be carried out in the country because he was not born as an OBC.
