Maharashtra Governor Bais releases 'Tactile Graphic Atlas' for Visually Impaired

Mumbai . 13 Persons with disabilities must be empowered to contribute to the social and economic progress of the country. Governor Ramesh Bais asserted that many skills taught to disabled people are likely to become obsolete and they need to be made aware of artificial intelligence skills with the help of technology . 

Inclusive Atlas India 2024, a book of maps accessible to the visually impaired was released by Governor Bais at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Saturday while speaking. National Association for the Blind (NAB) has prepared this atlas in both Braille and normal script.

Mentioning that he is the chairman of the committee that drafted the bill for disabled persons by the Parliament, visually impaired students and adults will get information about different continents , countries , oceans , seas , national and international borders through the tactile map book, and biology , geography and mathematics subjects will also be easy to understand through the tactile diagrams. The governor said that it will happen.

Honorary Secretary of NAB Dr. Vimal Kumar Dengla informed that the ' Brello ' machine purchased from the funds given to NAB by the Governor is helping to print books in braille script for visually impaired children as well as printing voter slips related to elections. NAB Honorary Secretary Harendra Kumar Malik, Executive Director Pallavi Kadam , Ramakant Satam , Sunil Kapoor , Gunjana Malviya and others were present at the launch of the tactile graph atlas .

Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais released the 'Inclusive Atlas India 2024', a tactile graphic map of India and various States at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Sat (13 April).

The Tactile Graphic Atlas prepared by the National Association for the Blind in Braille and normal text will enable visually impaired persons to understand the map of India and that of various States.

Dr Vimal Kumar Dengla, Hon Secretary General, NAB India, Pallavi Kadam, Executive President, Harendra Kumar Malik Hon Secretary, Ramakant Satam, Sunil Kapoor, Gunjana Malaviya were among those present.
