The National Senior Men’s Hockey team visited the Sri Jagannath temple in Puri on Saturday to offer prayers to Lord Jagannath seeking his blessings.

National Senior Men’s Hockey team visits Sri Jagannath temple

Puri, Mar 23  The National Senior Men’s Hockey team visited the Sri Jagannath temple in Puri on Saturday to offer prayers to Lord Jagannath seeking his blessings.
Accompanied by Hockey India President Dilip Tirky and the Chief Coach, the 35-member Indian hockey team arrived in Puri this afternoon. They were welcomed by the district sports officer and other officials from the district administration.
Escorted by the officials, the team entered the temple, where they paid homage to the presiding deities and then partook in Mahaprasad before departing for the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
The Indian team is currently practicing in a camp to prepare for a bilateral test series in Australia scheduled for March 29.
Neither Tirky nor the Chief Coach of the team entered the temple.
