NCP-AP condemns violation of MCC by Pune Congress candidate

The Nationalist Congress Party(NCP-Ajit Pawar ) on Thursday condemned the serious violation of the Model Code of Conduct by the Congress party candidate for the Pune Lok Sabha seat Ravindra Dhangekar in the ongoing election campaign.

The NCP in a press note said the Congress candidate has deliberately used the NCP's election symbol clock in his campaign materials. Their action not only violates election laws but also misleads voters, which is a fraudulent and criminal act.

NCP State General Secretary Shivajirao Garje has filed a complaint in the State Election Officer's Office and demanded immediate action against the Congress candidate.

In his complaint, he requested the Maharashtra Election Officer to seize all the campaign materials of the Congress candidate for the Pune Lok Sabha.

The National Chief Spokesperson of the party Brijmohan Srivastava said according to the Representation of the People Act, it is a criminal act for a Congress candidate to use our party's symbol in campaigning.

The Election Commission of India has authorized clock as our party symbol. Any unauthorized use of the party symbol in a misleading manner is a criminal offence. Their actions undermine the integrity of the electoral process.

Brijmohan requested the Maharashtra State Election Officer to "take immediate action against Dhangekar and register a case against him for this flagrant violation of law",he added.
