No Muslim votes for Shiv Sena (UBT): Maha NCP (AP) vice-chief

Maharashtra NCP (AP) vice-president Saleem Sarang on Saturday asserted that the Muslim community would never support an opportunist like Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray.

While reacting to Uddhav Thackeray's appeal in a rally to the Muslim community to forget past, embrace Shiv Sena and vote for it, he remarked that "I have never seen an opportunist like Uddhav Thackeray, who is asking Muslims to conveniently forget about the 1992 communal riots, in which hundreds of Muslim families were affected forever."

Questioning whether he has forgotten that his spokesperson Sanjay Raut had demanded to revoke voting rights of the Muslim community, Sarang noted that the party that has only hated Muslims for so many years is now begging them for votes and quipped is this not poetic justice.

Claiming that Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena is trying to deceive the Muslim community with its newly adopted

fake secular mask, he wondered what if this new mask of secularity drops down after winning the election.

Muslims are not naive anymore to believe in his surreptitious and underhand tactics, he asserted. 

"The entire community understands your cheap tactics. No Muslim is going to support you in Maharashtra, as you have always drifted the community apart from the mainstream," he added.

"If you need Muslim votes, why do not you offer candidature to even a single Muslim candidate," he retorted.
