The absence of AICC leader and incumbent MP, Rahul Gandhi during the last leg of election campaign might decrease the enthusiasm of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) workers, at Wayanad and nearby constituencies in North Malabar, at Kannur, Vadakara, and Kozhikode Lok Sabha constituencies.

Rahul Gandhi is fighting from Wayanad in Kerala against CPI national leader Annie Raja (wife of CPI General Secretary D Raja) and BJP State President K Surendran.

BJP national President J P Nadda, Assam Chief Minister Hemantha Biswas Sarma campaigned for K Surendran, and, Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai will join on the last day of the campaign tomorrow.

Rahul Gandhi has canceled his election campaign and roadshow which was scheduled on April 22, 23, and 24 at the three venues of Wayanad, due to food poisoning on April 21. 

In the Lok Sabha election held in 2019, a large number of people from all walks of life attended the election campaign of Rahul Gandhi and he won the election with a huge margin of around 4.30 lakhs.

CPI(M) led LDF has completed three phases of the election campaign at Vadakara, Kannur, and Kozhikode by arranging public meetings, road shows, and family meetings in all the booths. Top CPI(M) and CPI leaders including Sitaram Yechury, D Raja, Prakash Karat, Vrinda Karat, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and State Secretaries MV Govindan and Bonoy Viswom address the gathering at various venues in North Malabar last week.

Rahul Gandhi was in Wayanad on April 17 and 18 and addressed a public meeting and participated in a road show.

UDF and LDF organized roadshow at Koyilandy and Vadakara respectively as a part of the last leg election campaign in favour of Shafi Parambil and K K Shailja respectively. on Tuesday.
