In a jolt to Shiv Sena (UBT) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Ramesh Edate - a close associate of the leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council Ambadas Danve - joined the Shinde Sena on Wednesday.
Edate, former district chief of Vidarthi Sena, crossed over to Shiv Sena (Shinde) in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Edate is a staunch rival of UBT candidate for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Lok Sabha constituency Chandrakant Khaire.
