Three SOG jawans injured in IED blast triggered by Maoists in Odisha

Three jawans of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Odisha police were injured on Friday when the Maoists triggered an IED blast during a combing operation in Batepanga forest on Boudh-Kandhamal border in the state.

Bhubaneswar, Jan 5  Three jawans of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Odisha police were injured on Friday when the Maoists triggered an IED blast during a combing operation in Batepanga forest on Boudh-Kandhamal border in the state.
On being informed about the Maoist movements in the area, a SOG team of Jawans trained in anti- Maoist operation rushed to the area and launched an intensive combing operation when the incident took place.
Last month, the security forces had an encounter with the Maoists in the forest under Boudh district. Two SOG Jawans were also injured in Kandhamal district when the Maoists triggered a land mine explosion during the search operation.
Police sources said, immediately after the incident, more reinforcements have been rushed to the area to flush out the Maoists from the region.
