UP: BJP failed to ensure upliftment of farmers: Mayawati

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Sunday said that casteist, communal, and capitalist thinking and policies of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have not been able to uplift the farmers.

While addressing an election meeting in support of party candidate Dr. Mujahid Hussain, the BSP supremo, without naming sitting MP Danish Ali, said that the person whom the party sent to Parliament after winning the elections in 2019, did not maintain the honour of the party.

She said that the present MP betrayed the people of Amroha. "Given this, this time the party did not give a ticket to the sitting MP and gave the ticket to another candidate. But did not punish the Muslim community. A person from the Muslim community Mujahid Hussain has been given a ticket and has been made a candidate.

Attacking BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and INDI Alliance, Mayawati said that the guarantees will not work in this election. "Farmers are most unhappy under the BJP government. There is no one to listen to the problems of farmers in the BJP government supported by capitalists," she said.

While referring to the recommendations of the Sachar Committee, she said that there is no one in the BJP government to take care of the economic and social condition of Muslims. She assured that if the BSP forms the government policies favourable to Dalits, Muslims, backward classes and tribals will be implemented.

Seeing the crowd present on the huge ground, Mayawati said that now she is confident that this time also Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will also win from the Amroha seat. BSP supremo Mayawati attacked Congress and said that it had been in power since independence. "But due to its wrong policies, it was ousted from power. The situation of the BJP is no different from that of the Congress. The guarantee of the BJP is nothing more than a gimmick, there is a big difference between the words and actions of the BJP," she said.
