AAP, Congress agree to hold joint election campaign for Lok Sabha polls

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress agreed to hold a joint election campaign in Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

The decision to initiate coordination for election campaigns between AAP and Congress was taken at a coordination committee meeting yesterday, an official statement said on Wednesday.

“Positive discussion took place between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party in the coordination committee meeting,” Aam Aadmi Party's national general secretary Sandeep Pathak said.

“Leadership from Delhi and Haryana Congress was present in this meeting. A decision was taken to initiate coordination for election campaigns at the lower levels. The coordination will start at the Lok Sabha level, followed by coordination at the Assembly level,” he said.

“The biggest question before the nation today is to safeguard the country's democracy. It's imperative to liberate the country from the authoritarianism of the Modi government. The central government is systematically dismantling government institutions one by one. All agencies are working at the behest of the central government. To save the country from the dictatorship of the Modi government, we need to support each other. Hence, both parties are ready and united. We had a very positive discussion among ourselves,” Pathak said.

“There has already been coordination among us, and now discussions are being held on how to take it forward. India Alliance will win in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, and BJP will face defeat. India Alliance will win all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi,” he said.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak, Delhi MLA Durgesh Pathak, State Vice President and MLA Rajesh Gupta and Delhi Congress in-charge Deepak Babaria and interim President Devendra Yadav along with several top leaders from Delhi and Haryana Congress have attended the meeting.
