BSP releases first list of 16 candidates for LS polls

Lucknow, Mar 24  Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) released the first list of 16 candidates for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections on Sunday.
In the list released by party general secretary Mewalal Gautam, tickets have been given to Muslim candidates on seven seats and backward caste candidates on three seats.
The party has filed Majid Ali from Saharanpur, Shripal Singh from Kairana, Dara Singh Prajapati from Muzaffarnagar, Bijendra Singh from Bijnor, Surendra Pal Singh from Nagina (reserved), Mohd Irfan Saifi from Moradabad, and Zeeshan Khan from Rampur.
Similarly, the party has named Shaulat Ali from Sambhal, Mujahid Hussain from Amroha, Devvrit Tyagi from Meerut, Praveen Bansal from Baghpat, Rajendra Singh Solanki from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Girish Chandra Jatav from Bulandshahr (reserved), Abid Ali from Aonla, Anees Ahmed Khan alias Phoolbabu from Pilibhit, and Dodram Verma from Shahjahanpur (reserved) as it candidates.
It may be noted that in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, voting will be held on eight seats on April 19, for which the nomination process has started on March 20. BSP will be involved in an interesting battle in the Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Pilibhit, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Nagina, Rampur, and Moradabad seats of western Uttar Pradesh.
In the 2019 general elections, BSP had won Saharanpur, Bijnor, and Nagina, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had won Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, and Pilibhit, and the Samajwadi Party bagged Rampur and Moradabad seats.
