Former Congress MP Preneet Kaur from Patiala joins BJP

New Delhi, Mar 14  Suspended Congress MP from Patiala, Preneet Kaur on Thursday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Patiala ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections.
She joined the BJP in the presence of BJP General Secretary Vinod Tawade, Tarun Chug, BJP State President, and Party's Punjab President Sunil Kumar Jakhar and other senior leaders.
Talking to the media after joining the party, Preneet Kaur said, "I will work for my state and the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
"I had a good innings with the Congress party and I hope I'll have a better innings with the BJP" she added.
Preneet Kaur, wife of former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, was suspended by the Congress on the allegations of engaging in activities contrary to the party's interests.
Since then, Preneet had openly aligned herself with the saffron party in her stronghold of Patiala.
