Former MLA arrested by ED in Haryana

Yamunanagar, Jan 8  Former Haryana INLD MLA Dilbag Singh was arrested on Monday by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after a five-day-long raid ended, sources said.
The sources said the ED officials have taken Dilbag Singh to New Delhi.
Meanwhile, family of the former MLA from Yamunanagar denied that crores of rupees and gold bricks had been recovered from the raid.
Rajendra Singh Raja, brother of the former MLA, said the seizure report given by ED does not mention any such things. He added that according to the report two four-wheelers, six mobile phones of family members, the family's ancestral property papers, and the registry of the house where Dilbagh Singh resides, were seized.
His supporters gathered at the Indian National Lok Dal party office after the arrest, and alleged the action was politically motivated.
Raja, addressing the press, said there were raids by the income tax department in 2018 and 2022, but nothing was found. He alleged that the central government was using the agencies to suppress the opposition.
