LS polls: Cong names 16 more candidates; Vikramaditya Singh to contest from Mandi
New Delhi, The Indian National Congress on Saturday released a list of 16 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with prominent names being Vikramaditya Singh from Mandi Constituency of Himachal Pradesh and Manish Tewari from Chandigarh.
The candidates have been selected from Chandigarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Odisha.
Giving the information, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal said the candidates were selected by the party's Central Election Committee.
From Gujarat, the party has fielded Ramji Thakor from Mahesana, Himmatsinh Patel from Ahmedabad East, Pareshbhai Dhanani from Rajkot and Naishadh Desai from Navasari.
The party has selected Vinod Sultanpuri from Shimla Constituency of Himachal Pradesh.
From Odisha, the party has named Mohan Hembram from Keonjhar, Srikant Jena from Balasore, Anant Prasad Sethi from Bhadrak, Anchal Das from Jajpur, Sashmita Behera from Dhenkanal, Sidharth Swarup Das from Kendrapara, Rabindra Kumar Sethy from Jagatsinghpur, Sucharita Mohanty from Puri and Yasir Nawaz from Bhubaneswar.
Moreover, the party has also released the names of five candidates for the bye-election to the Gujarat Legislative Assembly.
