Maha CM targets Shiv Sena (UBT) chief

Kolhapur, Feb 17 Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday trained his guns on former chief minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray for allegedly refusing to provide him security even though he got threats from naxals, raising a doubt whether Thackeray wanted to have him eliminated by insurgents.
Addressing a national convention of Shiv Sena (Shinde) on second day today here, he claimed that when the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government was in power, Thackeray, as the chief minister, refused to provide him security guards despite being threatened by naxals and raised suspicion whether Thackeray wanted to have him killed by naxals.
He said that police authorities had told then minister Shambhuraj Desai to give Z-plus security to Shinde, but then chief minister Thackeray had refused to give such security.
Shinde further claimed that he had received threat calls from underworld fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim, his aide Chhota Shakeel and naxals, but he did not scare as blessings of late Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe were with him.
"For me, Shiv Sena is everything, Shiv Saniks are my family. I worked for them all my life and have no idea what will happen next. My forward thinking mind never looked back," he added.
