Maha DyCM questions silence of Shiv Sena (UBT) chief over Congress leader's allegation

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and BJP's star campaigner, Devendra Fadnavis, on Tuesday questioned silence of Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray over latest startling allegation made by his party's alliance partner Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar on killing of former Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief and IPS officer Hemant Karkare during November 26, 2008, terror attacks in metropolis.

Addressing a press conference at party office here, he said that Leader of Opposition in state Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar is saying that Hemant Karkare was not killed by Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab and accused him of speaking the language of Pakistan.

Despite this, Uddhav Thackeray, who is in alliance with the Congress, is still silent on the issue, he remarked and challenged Thackeray to declare whether he agrees with Vadettiwar's allegation.

It was proved in the trial court that Karkare was killed by Kasab's bullet, he iterated and said that all matters regarding the Mumbai terror attacks have been clarified in the court.

After awarding of sentence to Mumbai terror attack accused Kasab, Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray had appreciated role played by public prosecutor (PP) Ujjwal Nikam, he recalled and claimed that Uddhav Thackeray is maintaining silence due to his helplessness.

The BJP leader recalled that the November 26 terror attacks was a conspiracy of Pakistan and the western neighbour was stunned when it was proved in the court, he said.

Fadnavis accused Wadettiwar of speaking language of Pakistan and asked is the Congress leader in contact with anyone in Pakistan.

Notably, Wadettiwar alleged that Karkare was not killed by Kasab but by a pro-Rashtirya Swayamsevak Sangh police officer during 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
