Pune: MIT Art, Design and Technology University, Loni Kalbhor, Pune, India, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U.) with the Association of Specialized Colleges in Okayama Prefecture, Japan. The MOU signing ceremony, held on December 11, 2023, at MIT ADT University campus, solidifies a strategic partnership between the two institutions. Prof. Dr. Mangesh T. Karad, Executive President and Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Anant Chakradeo, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of MIT Art, Design and Technology University and Mr. Tanaka Junichi, Coordinator of the Association of Specialized Colleges in Okayama, were the signatories to the agreement.

The M.O.U. signifies MIT Art, Design and Technology University as an Association Partner and vice versa, establishing the framework for collaborative initiatives in education, vocational training, and skill-based programs between the two countries. This partnership is poised to facilitate the development of overseas training and educational programmes, fostering the exchange of students and educators between Okayama Prefecture and MIT's associated colleges.

The agreement also highlights a commitment to providing career opportunities for students in both India and Japan. Recognising the potential for students with the right aptitude, attitude, and career focus, both parties commit to ensuring that these individuals have opportunities for career exploration and employment. Moreover, the M.O.U. emphasises the exchange of educational resources, with provisions for joint conferences, workshops, meets, and the sharing of educational materials, publications, and information to enrich the learning experience for students on both sides. The roles and responsibilities of each party are outlined, focusing on active participation, support for program evaluation, and assistance to students pursuing opportunities in Japan.

Speaking about the collaboration, Prof. Dr. Anant Chakradeo stated, "This collaboration is a significant step towards globalising education and creating a platform for knowledge exchange." Mr. Tanaka Junichi expressed optimism, stating, "We are excited about the potential this partnership holds for our students and educators."  

The representatives Tanaka Junichi, Tetsuo Tadokoro, Inoue Shinichi, Mitanihara Tsuneyoshi, Shiho Miyajima, Nabin Subedi, Prof. Pallavi Dange, Dr. Nandkumar Shinde, Dr. Ashok Ghuge, Prof. Vrushali Godbole, Prof. Sushma Pawar from both organisations attended the signing ceremony, showing their commitment to implementing the terms of the M.O.U. and enhancing educational opportunities while fostering international understanding.
