Pune:  The inauguration of the National Smart India Hackathon (SIH) competition's final round in the hardware category took place at the Sant Shri Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Vishwashant Dome, MIT University of Art, Design and Technology, Pune. Mrityanjay Singh, Senior Vice President of Infosys Pune, shared insights during the inaugural function.
Singh highlighted the positive impact of government schemes like 'Make in India,' which have contributed to enhancing productivity and fostering self-sufficiency in the country. He noted that the hardware sector, along with the software sector, requires a revolutionary transformation for India to continue progressing.

Notable attendees included Sanjiv Kumar, founder of 'Ezumetica,' Prof. Vice-Chancellor of MIT ADT University Dr. Mohit Dubey, Dr. Ramachandra Pujeri, Registrar Dr. Mahesh Chopde, Head of Nodal Center Dr. Rekha Sugandhi, Dr. Suresh Kapre, and other dignitaries. AICTE Chairman T.G. Sitharaman provided guidance through a televised system on behalf of the Government of India.

Mrityanjay Singh also added the Smart India Hackathon competition for promoting research to address the country's challenges and acknowledged the efforts of MIT ADT University in this regard. Sanjiv Kumar, in his remarks, appreciated the university and offered guidance to the participating students. Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad, the Vice-Chancellor, and Executive President, along with Dr. Sunita Karad, played pivotal roles in organizing the competition.

A total of 27 teams from various states, including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Pondicherry, Karnataka, Kerala, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu, actively participated in the competition. The Smart India Hackathon serves as a platform for students to showcase their problem-solving skills and contribute to research and innovation for the betterment of the nation.

Prime Minister interacted with students

On the first day of the Smart India Hackathon competition, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, interacted with the participating students through the television system. He appealed to them to participate in the concept of "Viksit Bharat@2047".  Also he answered the questions of students while listening to their ideas. On this occasion, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was also present.
