Pune: In a dazzling display of innovation and ingenuity, students from MIT Art, Design and Technology University (MIT-ADT) have taken the spotlight at the prestigious DPEX-2024 competition with their groundbreaking pedal-operated washing machine.

The competition, organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Entrepreneurship Development Center Srijan, saw over 1,000 projects vying for recognition. Out of this formidable pool, only 300 projects were chosen for presentation, among which MIT ADT's creation stood out as a shining beacon of brilliance.

Developed by Anurag Nikam, Yugant Patil, Vinayak Goyal, and Mayur Mali, students of MIT ADT's Mechanical Engineering Department, this innovative washing machine is not just a device for laundry but a testament to sustainable living and fitness.

Guided by their mentor, Prof. Ajay Kumar Ugle, the team's pedal-operated washing machine promises portability, eco-friendliness, and an unexpected bonus: physical fitness. By incorporating a pedal mechanism, the machine encourages users to engage in exercise while effortlessly cleaning their clothes.
