Sensex recovers over 500 points

The BSE Sensex on Monday smartly recovered 551.45 points at 74,281.32 in opening session following gains in Bankex, Consumer Durable and Metal stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 121.80 points at 22,541.75.
The NSE registered days high and low at 22,546.95 and 22,441.70 points respectively.
The Sensex registered intra day high and low at 74,321.62 and 73,922.34 points respectively.
The Mid cap gained 0.43 per cent and Small Cap by 0.15 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 22 advanced while 8 declined.
The gainers were ICICI Bank by 2.61 per cent to Rs 1,136.05; IndusInd Bank by 2.50 per cent to Rs 1,482; Ultracemco by 1.81 per cent to Rs 9,875.95 and Kotak Bank by 1.65 per cent to Rs 1,635.
The losers were HCL Technology by 5.53 per cent to Rs 1,391; ITC by 0.66 per cent to Rs 437.05 and Maruti Suzuki by 0.43 per cent to Rs 12,632.75.
