Shiv Sena (UBT) chief takes dig at Modi

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, quipping that he has lost not just his self-confidence but also air from his 56-inchchest.

Addressing an election rally at Ratnagiri late this evening for Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Vinayak Raut, he lashed out at Modi, saying that back in 2014 when undivided Shiv Sena was with PM Modi, he used to boast 'Ek Akela Sab pe Bhari' (one man prevails on others) but now, that is not the case as 'Ek Akela Sab pe Bhari, Ajubajula Sarv Brashtachari' (one man prevails on many, but surrounds himself with corrupt), he said in a jibe.

While comparing current political scene in Maharashtra to Indian Premier League, Thackeray observed that at present there is Indian Political League (IPL) going on in the state, as someone is in one political party today but will be in another party tomorrow, leading to confusion in minds of people, he remarked.

Because of BJP's ploys, the status of politics in Maharashtra has come down in eyes of people, he claimed and said after the split in the party, though Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena got the 'bow and arrow' symbol, BJP has cleverly put a cap on its (Shinde-Sena) candidates.

But, this is not realised by Shinde, Thackeray lamented.

"BJP is on decline in the state, which is evident from the fact that both Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are camping in the state," he added.
