Telangana: ACB arrests Irrigation official for accepting Rs 4 lac bribe

A Deputy Executive engineer of irrigation Department here was held by Anti-corruption Bureau after he demanded Rs 5 lakhs and accepted Rs 4 lakh bribe from a builder for clearing No Objection Certificate (NOC) permission file for construction of commercial building situated at Shanthi Nagar in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

The accused officer thereby performed their public duty improperly and dishonestly, ACB said in a release here on Saturday.

The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of the Irrigation official.

He was being arrested and produced before the Prl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Court at Nampally, Hyderabad.

The case is under investigation, the release added.
