The Phagwara police have arrested two foreign national youths under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act 1946 residing in India without valid visas or passports.

Phagwara, Jan 25   The Phagwara police have arrested two foreign national youths under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act 1946 residing in India without valid visas or passports.
SP Phagwara Gurpreet Singh, while confirming here on Thursday, said that the arrested accused were identified as Salihu Iliyasu of Nigeria and Jaime Ripoco of Guinea.
He also said that a police party headed by the Sub Inspector was inspecting PG houses in Miherru when both were nabbed. The cops had to call a translator, Rohit, due to a language problem.
The arrested Salihu was residing in Kapoor Castle, paying guest house Green Valley Miherru, who could not produce his visa for India. The second accused, Jaime, could also not produce his visa.
The police are investigating the matter in detail.
