Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi announces support to Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj
Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) president Prakash Ambedkar announced on Saturday that his party will give full support to Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, who is contesting the general elections as a Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidate of the Congress party from Kolhapur Lok Sabha constituency.
Kolhapur, Mar 23 Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) president Prakash Ambedkar announced on Saturday that his party will give full support to Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, who is contesting the general elections as a Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) candidate of the Congress party from Kolhapur Lok Sabha constituency.
Addressing a press conference here after meeting Srimant Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, he said, "VBA belives in and is a major proponent of the Ohule-Shahu-Ambedkar ideology, and we have immense respect for the descendants of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur."
On meeting with OBC leader Prakash Shendge, he declined to comment on this issue as Shendge is yet to decide on sharing of seats with Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
On differences between MVA alliance partners, Ambedkar said that "if they cooperated, then differences on seat sharing will be resolved.
Meanwhile, in a press release, district Congress president and former state minister Satej Patil welcomed Ambedkar's announcement of full support to Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj.
