Case filed against SP candidate for Aonla seat for forgery

A case has been lodged against Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Aonla Neeraj Maurya and Satyaveer Singh for allegedly filing the nomination papers fraudulently by claiming to be a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidates, a police officer said here on Monday.

Circle Officer (CO) Pankaj Shrivastava said that the case was lodged against SP candidate Neeraj Maurya and Satyaveer Singh on the complaint of BSP candidate from Aonla seat Abid Ali on Sunday night. 

"Further action will be taken on the basis of scrutiny of the documents," he said.

It may be noted that the BSP announced Chhotelal Gangawar and Abid Ali as its candidates from Bareilly and Aonla seats, respectively.

"Both candidates filed their nominations. In the meantime, one Satyaveer Singh also filed a nomination from the Aonla seat, claiming himself to be the BSP candidate," sources said.

Police sources said that in his complaint, BSP candidate Abid Ali alleged that, conspiring against the party, SP candidate Neeraj Maurya got the fake documents Satyaveer Singh prepared on the basis of which the nomination was filed.

The CO said that a case has been lodged against Satyaveer Singh, a resident of Shahjahanpur, and SP candidate Aonla Neeraj Maurya under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including fraud and forgery at Bareilly Kotwali police station.

Meanwhile, divisional coordinator Brahm Swaroop Sagar and district president Rajiv Kumar Singh have been expelled after the nomination of party candidate Chhotelal Gangwar was rejected during scrutiny on April 20. The nomination of Gangwar was cancelled as his papers were found incomplete during scrutiny
