UP: BJP betrayed youth and farmers: Akhilesh

Pilibhit (UP), Apr 12 Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Friday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of promoting corruption and weakening the Constitution.

Addressing an election rally in favour of party candidate Bhagwat Saran Gangwar at Pilbhit, Akhilesh said its defeat on 400 seats is certain as the ruling party has betrayed the farmers and youth by lying them.

Addressing the rally, he said, "BJP people from Uttar Pradesh to Delhi are nervous given certain defeat. The faces of BJP leaders turn pale after hearing the name of Pilibhit. BJP betrayed the farmers. It brought three black laws, but scared by the power of farmers, the BJP withdrew the black laws. The people of Pilibhit remained at the forefront of the farmers' movement. Today BJP is taking forward those who were suppressing the farmers' movement."

The SP Chief said that while the party kept collecting donations for itself instead of providing relief to the public, inflation increased manifold during the tenure of the BJP government. "BJP worked to increase corruption. Corruption reached its peak. Recovery is done through electoral bonds. Such recovery has not happened anywhere in the world," he alleged.

He alleged, "The BJP government extorted money from industrialists by threatening them with CBI, ED and Income Tax. BJP had said that demonetisation would end corruption, but it converted black money into white through electoral bonds. BJP converted black money into white in demonetization."

Akhilesh said that inflation has increased in the country due to the recovery in the name of electoral bonds. "The industrialists from whom BJP has extorted money have collected it from the public by increasing inflation. BJP has increased corruption and therefore inflation has increased. The BJP government is responsible for increasing inflation," he said.

He said that the BJP has betrayed the youth. "Jobs were not given to the youths and the papers of competitive examinations were leaked. BJP's intention is not to provide jobs to the youth. It ruined the future of an entire generation of youth," he said.

The SP chief said that the BJP had given guarantees of doubling the income of farmers and providing two crore jobs to the youth every year but it was not fulfilled. "Students, youth, and farmers are disappointed due to BJP's lies and deception. 80 to 90 percent of educated youth are unemployed. The available jobs are on contract and outsourced basis," he said.
