Vote for INDI alliance to save reservation: Akhilesh urges BSP supporters

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday strongly appealed to the supporters of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) to vote in favour of of SP or INDI alliance candidates in order to save the Constitution and the reservation.

Referring to BSP supremo Mayawati's decision to remove her nephew Akash Anand from the post of national coordinator and her successor, Akhilesh wrote on X, "Whatever step BSP has taken to bring major changes in its organisation is an internal matter of their party. Actually, the real reason behind this is that BSP does not see even a single seat coming because most of the traditional supporters of the party are also voting for the INDI alliance this time to save the Constitution and reservation."

He claimed that BSP is taking this as a failure of its organisation. "That is why their top leadership is making such major changes in the organisation but now the game is out of BSP's hands. The truth is that despite being the area of influence of BSP, when it is not getting even a single seat in the last three phases, then there is no possibility left in the remaining four phases," he said.

Akhilesh said, "In such a situation, we appeal to all the voters that you should not waste your vote and cast your ballot for the candidates of INDI alliance who are fighting from the front to save the Constitution of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and along with reservation."

Appealing to voters, he said, "That is why it is requested that if you want to save the Constitution, reservation and your honour, then cast your vote for SP or defeat the anti-constitution and anti-reservation Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by casting your vote where there is a candidate of INDI alliance."

It may be noted that in a sudden move, BSP supremo Mayawati on Tuesday removed her nephew Akash Anand from the post of national coordinator and her successor, citing 'maturity' issue.

Taking to X, Mayawati wrote, "It is well known that BSP, along with being a party, is also a movement for self-respect and social change of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, for Kanshi Ram ji and I have dedicated our entire lives, and the new generation is also being prepared to give momentum to this."

She said, "In this series, while promoting others, Akash Anand was declared the national coordinator and my successor, but till he attains full majority, he is separated from these two important responsibilities in the larger interest of the party and the movement."
