The Congress on Thursday unveiled its second list of Karnataka candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, representing a continuation of political legacies, with nominations including the son-in-law of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and the children of five ministers.

Bengaluru, March 21   The Congress on Thursday unveiled its second list of Karnataka candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, representing a continuation of political legacies, with nominations including the son-in-law of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and the children of five ministers.
Radhakrishna Doddamani, who is the son-in-law of Kharge, will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections representing the Congress from Kalaburagi constituency.
Interestingly, Kharge himself had won the seat in the 2009 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections, but faced defeat in 2019.
Additionally, Priyanka Jarkiholi, daughter of Satish Jarkiholi, will be in the race from Chikkodi.
While Sowmya Reddy, daughter of Ramalinga Reddy, is the candidate for Bangalore South, Samyukta S Patil, daughter of Shivanand Patil, will try his electoral luck from Bagalkot.
Mrinal Ravindra Hebbalkar, son of Laxmi Hebbalkar, has been nominated for the Belgaum constituency. Sagar Khandre, son of Eshwar Khandre, has been fielded from Bidar.
Mansoor Ali Khan, the son of former Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha K Rahman Khan, has been given the ticket from Bangalore Central.
Moreover, Prabha Mallikarjun, who is the wife of Minister SS Mallikarjun and daughter-in-law of veteran party leader Shamanur Shivashankarappa, has been nominated as the party's candidate from Davangere constituency.
Prof MV Rajeev Gowda, who serves as the Vice-Chairman of Karnataka State Policy and Planning Commission, will be the Congress contender from the Bangalore South constituency against incumbent Member of Parliament from the BJP, Tejasvi Surya.
Other candidates from Karnataka are: M Laxman (Mysuru), Vinod Asooti (Dharwad), G Kumar Naik (Raichur), Padmaraj (Dakshina Kannada), Jayaprakash Hegde (Udupi-Chikmagalur), K Rajashekar Basavaraj Hitnal (Koppal).
The Congress party in Karnataka released its first list of seven candidates for the Lok Sabha elections on March 8.
Meanwhile, the BJP, which secured a significant victory in the 2019 general elections in Karnataka by winning 25 out of the 28 seats, announced candidates for 20 seats in the state last week.
In contrast, the Congress and JDS, who allied for the elections, managed to secure just one seat each.
The upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka will be held in two phases on April 26 and May 7.
