This Lok Sabha election about democracy versus dictatorship: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday said that this Lok Sabha election is significant as it is a battle between democracy and dictatorship and appealed citizens to vote for Maha Vikas Agadhi (MVA) candidates to save democracy.

Addressing an election rally in support of party candidate Sanjay Jadhav at stadium ground here this evening amidst heavy downpour, he said that this Lok Sabha election is very important, as it is about democracy versus dictatorship.

Therefore, he appealed common people to stand behind MVA to save democracy.

While strongly criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP in his brief speech, Thackeray said, "Realising that neither Modi's coin nor his face will gurantee success in this year's election in Maharashtra, these groups (referring to rival Shinde) have started a desperate attempt to use the photo of Hindu king Bal Thackeray."

"Our families are accused of nepotism. Yes, we are proud, we are the lifeblood of Hindu emperor of hearts Bal Thackeray. We are not just a stick for opponents to talk about dynasticism, only the people will decide about dynasticism," he said.

Continuing his attack, Thackeray said, "If you talk about our dynasticism, we will definitely talk about your dictatorship continuously."

"For last 10 years, they tried to finish Uddhav Thackeray politically, but people of Maharashtra are with us," he added and warned Modi-(Amit) Shah not to conspire to end his political career by sitting in Delhi.

Through this election, people have started giving the slogan 'Ab ki bar BJP Tadipar', Thackeray added.
